Math Problems and Investigations

On this page you will find some links to informative web pages that will help you to enhance the problem solving environment in your math classes.

Some Canadian Mathematics Contests:

· The Nova Scotia Math League is a great local competition and involves high school teams of 4. They post past problems on their website.

· The University of Waterloo host contests for students from grades 7 through 12 every year. You can go to the contest website and get copies of past problems. This is a great resource.

· Check out Mathematica for more Canadian contests targeted at students in grades 4 to 8.

From NCTM:

· Looking for problems for Grades 9 to 12? Check out the past problems from NCTM’s The Mathematics Teacher. Solutions are provided.

· NCTM also has a series of problems for middle school targeted at grades 5 to 8. You can find those here.

· Of course NCTM also provides many elementary level problems to be explored in your classroom as well. You can find them here.
